| Sushi Chef Sam quotes "Everything I do is seasonal" who names Tuna as his favorite fish. While the city wakes up you'll find Sam at a local San Francisco fish market picking up hand picked fish and fresh produce for the restaurant. He is truly obsessed with the fish he serves, and he reports that he spends hours perusing books about the biology of fish, their life cycles and ecology, all in the pursuit of making the very best sushi he possibly can. The items he created for the menu have special symbolic meaning. The Oyako (which means mother and child in Japanese), is denoted with salmon wrapped around a salmon egg. The Sunrise, which features a raw quail egg on top, stands for the sun. The Eclipse Sushi (tuna with black caviar topped with a raw quail egg) represents the moon and the sun together. Ah, the perfect planetary reflection of a perfect day.

It was pure heaven. The specials are not to be missed- the seared ono is amazing, the tuna tartare was ridiculously sublime, and the creamy roll is one of my favorite things to eat. Its also a great place for vegetarians- they will design a roll for you. They also offer free delivery, with a minimum $25 purchase.

"I give this place 5 stars for its Service, Friendly, Casual yet hip atmosphere with really good food. You can sit at the bar and have a nice chat with the sushi chef and your friendly neighbors or you can sit at a table and get excellent service either way. This is operated by a sweet young couple who go out of there way to serve you great sushi and japanese.
I should know something about service and Japanese food since I lived in Japan for 8 years. SF sushi is not the greatest but this place is pretty good and like I said you go there for the people and service as well......its all part of the dinning experienc. :)"

| UMMMMMMM I go gaga for the sushi nugget (crab meat and cream cheese rolled with rice and seaweed then dipped in tempura ....yummy) I have yet to try the other tempura rolls, which they tell me are delicious. (This spicy cream roll sounds like another I will have to try.)
